National Weather Service - Storm Survey Class -
Wednesday,
March 10th, 2010 from 6:00 PM to
8:00 PM at the Jackson Fire Department - DC Annex located at 152 Pearl
St., Jackson, Ohio. This course discusses damage assessment and is a
pre-requisite for those wishing to be involved with the county's
damage assessment team. Previous attendance at a Basic/Advanced
Weather Spotters class is suggested, but not mandatory. Target
audience is CERT, ARES, amateur radio, Red Cross and fire service.
THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

CERT Training in Gallia County - Friday,
March 12th from 5:30pm to 9:00pm; Saturday, March 13th from 8:00 am to
5:00pm and Sunday, March 14th from 12:00 pm to 5:00pm. Location for
the training will be the Gallia County 911 Center. Students MUST
attend all three days of this course. Please contact Patrick "Boats"
West at the Jackson County Health Department at 286-5094 or
the Gallia County EMA for more details. More information on CERT

New Web Address For FEMA Self Study Courses - FEMA has a new web address for their independent study courses.
It is
www.learningservices.us/FEMA/LMS. There are a variety of
courses available including hazardous materials, National
Incident Management System (NIMS), incident
command, and disaster exercises.

Jackson County EMA, LEPC and the Jackson County
Emergency Response (HAZMAT) Team- These organizations have many hazardous materials,
confined space rescue, incident management, instructions on equipment
usage, etc. DVDs, videotapes or CDs
from Emergency Film Group, Ohio EMA, the State Fire Marshal's Office
and others.
